CBI probe sought over mysterious death of Forest guard

The people of the State seemed to be dismayed over the sudden mysterious death of a forest guard who was found hanged to a tree recently seeking CBI probe in the matter. The State Congress Government was once again being blamed for undermining a mysterious death of forest guard Hoshiyar Singh under Karsog Forest Division in Mandi district as police have registered a case under culpable homicide.

The Opposition BJP, Civil Societies, Intelligentsia and General people taking state head on alleging that instead of probing the role of forest Mafia in this incident state government was undermining it however body was recovered hanged to a trunk of tree tied to  legs falling freely down. Talking to media persons, BJP State President Satpal Singh Sati said on Monday that sorrowful crime was seemed to forcefully converted to suicide as the police had conducted investigation hurriedly posing question mark on its role.

Deceased Mr. Hoshiyar Singh who joined the duty three months earlier was posted in the hyper sensitivity forest where a number of illicit tree green felling had taken place, Mr. Sati said. ”Without assessing the gravity of crime and hyper sensitivity of posting an official who was serving honestly and was a young lost his life could not be a normal crime,” he said. Mr. Sati warned that if the State and police would act in such negligent way it would encourage the Forest Mafia which ad has taken a number of forest including Taradevi in Shimla and Dalhousie of Chamba district. The chronology of incidents reported by the family member of the victim on Jun 5, and death took place on Jun 7 Moreover the police could recover body on Jun 9.

Himachali writer Mr S R Harnot demended CBI probe into this incident. In a message posted on the facebook by Mr. Harnot said that the mysterious death of three month old recruited Mr Singh is heart breaking. This death could not be normal death as it was projected by the police and administration. Writer alleged that crime must have some link with the forest Mafia  moreover local media indicating play of such criminal in the mishap. ACF Laik Ram led team also lodged case to fell 65 trees in the same forest as the dozen of stumps have been found on the spot.

Meanwhile, the state government constituted a four-member committee led by Additional Principal Chief Conservator  Hari Singh Dogra, comprising of forest Divisional Officers of Mandi, Sundernagar and Nachan . The Forest Minister Mr. Thakur Singh Bharmuri confirmed that committee would submit the report within 15 days to Minister. Block Officer of the concerned range was suspended in the incident. He said that police was doing in-depth probe in the incident and state was not giving any negligence in the matter.
