SASE warns of medium danger avalanche warning to J&K and HP

Chandigarh based Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE) issued medium danger avalanche advisory for the next 24 hours in snowline areas of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

 

An SASE advisory here said that “medium danger warning loom large in avalanche prone hill slopes in Kullu, Chamba, Lahaul and Spiti, Mandi, Kangra, Sirmaur, Shimla and Kinnaur districts of Himachal Pradesh and in Kupwara, Bandipora, Anantnag, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Budgam, Poonch, Doda, Kishtwar and Kargil districts of Jammu and Kashmir.”

 

SASE cautioned people living in the avalanche prone areas and also advised to keep clearing the house and bunker roof top from deposit of snow to avoid damages. The Met office also forecast very light to light snowfall in the next 24 hours at isolated places in the high reaches. Also in the last 24 hours high reaches of the State got mild to light snowfall.
