Keylong shivers at minus 12 degrees

Cold waves intensified in the State as Keylong in Lahaul Spiti recorded low at minus 12 degrees and six degrees below normal. The cold waves further intensified in the hill state as Mercury plunged several degrees down the normal and with frost condition in the State minimum temperature plummet in the State.

Keylong, headquarters of Lahaul Spiti district recorded minus 12 degree Celsius and coldest in the State. The minimum temperature declined by three degrees in the last 24 hours and six degrees down the normal, the Met office confirmed. Kalpa in Kinnaur was recorded low at minus 2.8 degrees, tourist resort Manali at minus 1.6 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu 0.5 degrees, Sundernagar in Mandi 0.6 degrees, Chamba two degrees, Solan 2.8 degrees, Kangra 3.8 degrees, Hamirpur 3.9 degrees, Unà 4.4 degrees and tourist resort Dalhousie 4.8 degrees respectively.

Palampur in Kangra five degrees, Dharamshala 5.4 degrees, Mandi 5.8 degrees, Bilaspur 5.9 degrees, Shimla 6.7 degrees and Nahan Seven degrees respectively. The Met office forecast mainly dry weather in the State during the next 24 hours.
