High reaches experience snowfall and few parts lashed by rainfall

The high reaches of Himachal Pradesh get fresh snowfall in this summer season and the rest of the State was lashed by rainfall however tourist destinations are still filled to its capacity due sweltering heat waves in the plain. There are reports that Kinner Kailash ranges got light snowfall during the last 24 hours sparkling the lofty peaks with snowfall. The Met Office had forecast snowfall at many places in the high reaches.

 

Sarkaghat in Mandi got 56 mm rainfall, Sundernagar in Mandi 43 mm, Dharamshala & Gaggal 38 mm each, Mandi 33 mm, Nahan in Sirmaur 25 mm, Kheri in Chamba 20 mm, Baijnath in Kangra & Gohar in Mandi 18 mm each, Baldwara in Mandi 15 mm, Manali in Kullu & Palampur of Kangra 13 mm each, Hamirpur 11 mm, Bhoranj  nine mm, Paonta Sahib of Sirmaur & Nurpur in Kangra 8 mm each, Solan 6  mm and Kandaghat of Solan 5.mm respectively.

 

The maximum temperature of Shimla was 21.5 degrees, Sundernagar 29.8 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu 31 degrees, Kalpa 22.8 degrees, Dharmshala 28.2 degrees, Una 35 degrees, Nahan 27.8 degrees, Solan 26 degrees and Kangra 29 degrees. The Met office warned of heavy rainfall in parts of mid, foothill and high reaches in the next 24 hours.
