District Admin opens Sanjauli Chowk to IGMC restricted road for vehicular traffic

The District Administration today decided to open the restricted road linking Sanjauli Chowk to the gate of Indira Gandhi Hospital for the vehicular traffic to ease the ferrying of movement of patients on this road however, vehicles would not be allowed to run beyond IGMC Hospital towards Lakkar Bazar which would continue to be treated as restricted route (R-3) in the town.

An official statement issued to media today disclosed that amendments had been made in the Shimla Road Users and Pedestrians (Public Safety and Convenience) Act 2007 in recent legislation which was notified by the district administration forthwith.

The administration decided to open about one and half kilometre long road for ferrying of patients coming to IGMC Shimla from different parts of the State for treatment in emergency circumstances who face inconvenience due to restriction on travel. However, the administration also decided to declared Auckland House School to Hotel White as Sealed Road instead (R-7).
