Dharam Rakesha Munch gives call for Shimla bandh

Shimla: Dharam Rakesh Munch, a joint front of various Hindu organization in the state, has given a one-day Shimla-Bandh call following an incident of cow sloughter three days ago in Chopal subdivision. Talking to HimVani, Bal Ram Sharma, convener of State Dharam Rakesha Munch said that a joint front of various Hindu organization has given a call for Shimla bandh on February 13.

Meanwhile, agitated over the slaughter, about 500 people staged a protest at Nerwa suburb this morning and damaged three Muslim shrines and burnt down a motorcycle. Police have arrested the person involved in cow slaughter under Prohibition of Animal cruelty and Cow Slaughter Act. SP Shimla RM Sharma, who visited the area this noon, told HimVani that the situation is under control and sufficient police force was deployed in the area to face any eventuality.

  1. Looks like we are losing no time in following the Islamic fundamentalists in obscurantism and motivated violence against people who do not share your belief. The cow has come to represent some kind of a symbol of Hindu orthodoxy. Yet, we all know how poorly the cows are cared for in this country. Not only that, we also allow cheap export of cattle to Nepal,Bangladesh etc for slaughter – and of processed beef globally, for re-sale at an enormous profit. So our cheap cattle enrich others and improve nutrition in other countries. What kind of a hypocrisy is this?
