Bone chilling cold waves persist in Himachal Pradesh

Bone chilling cold wave still persists in this hill state and  was aggravated with light clouds and clear sky in the night one more person in the district has reported to die of cold.

Minimum temperature is staying below freezing points or near it in mid and high reaches keeping cold wave conditions in the state following light clouds in the sky during day time and clear sky in the night keeping the mercury low.

Keylong the district headquarter of Lahaul Spiti which is snowbound recorded low at minus 12.8 degree Celsius, Kalpa in Kinnuar and Manali remained at minus three and four degrees,respectively.

Sundernagar in Mandi and Bhunter was at freezing point at zero degrees, Chamba, Solan and Una at one degrees, Shimla and Mandi at three degrees, while Dharmshala, Palampur, Kangra, Dalhousie and Bilaspur remained at four degrees each and Hamirpur recorded six degrees.

Reports arriving here from Sawada near Tuni on Uttrakand Himachal border a man was found dead due to cold in State Forest Corporation Huts this morning which is the fourth death of this winter season in the district.

There would be no respite from the cold in the upcoming days too as Metrological office has forecast arrival of fresh western disturbances in the state from January 20 onwards.
