Justice Sanjay Karol inaugurates Aanganwadi centre-cum-creche in High Court, Shimla

    Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh Mr.Justice Sanjay Karol on the occasion of Children’s Day, inaugurated the Anganwadi Centre -cum- Creche in the premises of H.P. High Court, Shimla. The Director, Women and Child Development, Ms.Manasi Sahay Thakur on this occasion, welcomed the Hon’ble Acting Chief Justice and other Judges of the Hon’ble High Court and briefed about the functions of the Anganwadi Centre -cum- Creche.

    Ms. Manasi Sahay apprised that the facility of Anganwadi Centre-cum-Creche will be provided to the children ageing from 06 months to 6 years and the capacity of the crèche shall be 15-20 children. The Director, further informed that Anganwadi facilities will be provided from 10 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. and the crèche facility will be provided from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. for which one Anganwadi Worker, one Anganwadi helper and two crèche workers have been appointed by the said Department.

    She also informed that the health, nutrition and pre-school education facilities, shall be provided to the children, free of cost. As informed by the D.P.O.(WCD), the health checkup, immunization and referral services will also be provided to the children. The children diagnosed with problems like malnutrition, anaemia etc. shall be referred to the IGMC. The main focus will be on the pre-school curriculum which has been devised by the department on monthly theme basis, such as fruits, vegetables, seasons etc. to make the children well conversant with these.

    Registrar General Mr. Rajeev Bhardwaj, Registrars of High Court, Shri B.M.Chauhan, President, and office bearers of H.P. High Court Bar Association along with a large number of members of the Bar, Sh.Ashok Sharma, Assistant Solicitor General of India, Joint Director Shri R.S.Guleria, Shri Rakesh Bhardwaj, D.P.O. and Ms.Mamta Paul, CDPO, Women and Child Welfare Department and Shri Balbir, Assistant Controller(Finance) were also present on the occasion. Mr. Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Justice Sureshwar Thakur, Justice Vivek Singh Thakur, Justice Ajay Mohan Goel and Justice Chander Bhushan Barowalia, Judges of the Hon’ble High Court of H.P. were also present on the occasion. The said Creche shall be run by the Department of Women and Child Development.
