Two years of NDA sanctions 60 National Highways to Himachal

    The Union Health minister Mr. J P Nadda today claimed that 2 years of the National Democratic Alliance rule in the Centre has sanctioned as many as sixty national highways as four state highways were declared to be taken up by NHAI and another 56 this year.

    During one day of home state tour Mr. Nadda addressed a press conference claiming that it has approved ” in principle ” about 3,759 kilometre length of roads in the State as the New National Highway.

    “The State Government has been directed to come with modification report within seven days on these roads. In the report it would appoint consultant for preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs)” Mr. Nadda said that centre would spent Rs 13000 Crore on these 60 road projects.

    He said that the Union Government announced to convert 234 km roads in the National Highway last year and 3396 km this year. With construction of these roads, the state would have total network of about 4000 km National Highway.

    The NDA Government was liberal to Himachal Pradesh as it has increased state share in central taxes devolution of 42 per cent from the 32 per cent. “The state would get increase in grand-in-aide to Rs 48810 Cr in the 15th FC compared to 14454 of 14th finance commission” Mr. Nadda said.

    The Government also fixed the 90:10 ratio for the Central sponsored scheme to Himachal Pradesh along with other special category states like Uttrakhand and Jammu Kashimr reducing the state kitty on the ratio of 70:10.
