Shimla (Jan 14): All developmental blocks in the state would be connected with video-conferencing facility in a couple of months. This was revealed by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal while releasing the ‘primers’ guidelines for newly elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions, here today.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has provided required machinery and equipments in every developmental block throughout the state, which were being installed and tested for connectivity with the headquarters to set up two-day video-conferencing systems at block level. He said that the system would be helpful in interacting with grassroots functionaries and representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions. He said that it would go a long way in saving time and money otherwise being spent over inviting the elected members for such conferences to district and state headquarters. He said that the state government was endeavouring to make best use of information technology in its functioning at all level and with the connectivity of every developmental block frequent exchange of ideas and interactions would be convenient and helpful in future developmental planning of such areas.
