HP Model Jail fails to impart requisite medical-checkup to 45 inmates



Nahan: Model Central Jail authorities could not send 45 inmates for medical checkup in zonal hospital Nahan citing shortage of security personals as reason. Police officials of Nahan Model Central Jail said that they failed to impart medical assistance to its inmates as per the schedule. They said that 45 inmate patients were sent to Health Department for medical checkup for which a team of four doctors was prepared, but unfortunately not a single patient reached the hospital.

The local police has already faced serious matters especially in terms of fleeing of inmates and they said that police was not interested to take unnecessary risk, which may cost them their jobs on account of such incidents that have occurred in the past.
