Shimla: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has awarded the Himachal Road Transport Corporation with Transport Minister’s Trophy award for the years 2007-08 and 2008-09 along with cash prize of Rs.3 lakh for lowest accident rate in hill state transport undertakings in the country. During 2007-08 and 2008-09, the accident rates per lakh kms were 0.10 & 0.11. Transport Minister Mohinder Singh Thakur along with Managing Director of HRTC has received the award from Union Transport Minister Kamal Nath at New Delhi today. Transport Minister and Managing Director of HRTC have congratulated the employees of the corporation for this achievement and have dedicated the award to them.
