Shimla (Dec 28): Owing to Western Disturbances approaching Himachal Pradesh and other north-western states, rain or snowfall is likely to occur at many places including tourist destinations Shimla, Manali, Narkanda and Kufri. An IMD offical release warned of heavy rain or snowfall at isolated parts of high reaches of Himachal Pradesh in the coming 72 hours.
According to Shimla based Indian Meteorological Department officer Manmohan Singh, the touirts destinations which were so fare elude by proper snowfall would have enough snowfall to appese new years’ visitors as western disturbances is approaching the state likely to bring snowfall in Toursits resorts, Shimla, Manali, Narkanda, Kufri and Rohtang Pass.
Issuing warning to the people living in snowline high areas of tribal districts, The IMD official said that heavy rain and snow is likely to occur at isolated parts from midnight of tomorrow (Dec 29), which would last till night of Dec 30, 2010. He said that light to moderate rain or snow likely to occur at few places in middle hills of state and light to moderate rain likely to occur in foothills and plains of state in next 72 hrs.
