Three fire mishaps cause massive loss of property

Shimla: Three separate fire accidents occurred in this district today, which caused massive loss of property. The first mishap occurred at Sub Divisional Magistrate office at Theog where fire was caused by electric short circuit. It burnt down some computers, a photocopier and other furniture kept in office at 0450 hrs today. However, quick action on behalf of fire personals prevented the fire from spreading into the entire complex, saving rest of the property worth lakhs.  The loss has been estimated at Rs1 Lakh so far. However, the exact loss is expected to be more, fire official based at Theog said.

In another accident, a three story building with eight rooms was burnt down by a devastating fire that broke out at Kayani village near Chirgoan Thesil in Rohru subdivision in this district at 0915 hrs this morning. It caused the loss of Rs15 lakh while one cow kept in cowshed in the ground floor died of suffocation in thick smoke. However, the cause of fire is yet to ascertained. The third accident occurred at Sanjouli at 1030 hrs today, as a fire broke out from a car, burning down two others vehicles parked near it. The fire was doused down to save the other vehicles parked near it. However, the loss has been estimated at Rs8.25 lakh, as the fire gutted down one car, a jeep and a Scorpio was burnt partly.
