Shimla (Dec 25) The icy winds blowing, kept the entire state under the grip of biting cold, as mercury further receded in most part of state during last 24 hrs.
The Headquarter of Lahaul-Spiti district was recorded season’s lowest today, when mercury plunged to level of minus 8.2 degree Celsius, last night. While, Kalpa in Kinnuar, was at minus three degrees, Buntar in Kullu at minus two degrees and Sunderngar in Mandi at minus 0.1 degrees respectively.
Mandi and Solan was low at just freezing point, at zero degrees each, Una and Shimla at two and three degrees, Dharamshala and Palampur (Kangra) at four degrees each respectively. Nahan (Sirmour) was minimum at 6.5 degrees but five degree less than normal.
Maximum of Kalpa was 9.6 degrees and Shimla 13.4 degrees, Nahan, Bhuntar and Dharamshala was 18 degrees each and Sundernagar at 20 degree, Una 21.2 degrees and Solan at 19 degrees respectively.
The Met office said that dry weather would continue in the state during next 24hrs.
