Shimla (Dec 24) Taking monkey menace to the electorates leanings,Himachal Kheti Bachhao Sangarsh Samiti (HKBSS) has urged the rural voters to elect candidates who would effectively raise the issue of monkey menace in the state.
In the ensuing Panchyati Raj Institutions (PRI) and Urban Local Bodies elections, the voters would elect about 28333 representatives in the state.
HKBSS said that more than 44 lakh voters should elect such candidates who could effectively raise the issue of monkey menace that is posing threat to agriculture practices of state by wild animal.

Softening its stand to mass cull the monkeys and wild boars in the state, HKBS Convener Kuldeep Singh Tanwar said in a statement issued here today that about 40 lakh electorates from 9.14 lakh farmers’ household supporting about 80 lakh population in the state should join hand firmly to votes such candidates while electing their representatives who could raise the issue of monkey menace with one voice and effectively.

Appealing the masses to ensure that this issue should be raised in the oncoming elections of PRI and Urban local bodies, it should be ensured rather those candidates who are for the farmers support, must be given mandate.

Refuting the animal-loving NGOs allegations, Tanwar he advised such NGOs should be more realistic enough to watch the interest of peasantry class who were being forced to leave their only source of livelihood is at stake owing to the problem.

Questioning the stand taken by NGOs, Tanwar observed that the wrong role played by them have pushed the farmer in dock as they knocked the door of court beside raising outcry keeping the farmer interest at bay.
