Shimla (Dec 14): Challenging disposing of the AIPIL carton unit at Pragatinagar in Gumma area of Shimla district, Himachal Kisan Sabha has moved a writ petition before the Himachal Pradesh High Court demanding scrapping of the deal and lodging investigation into it. The petition was placed for hearing before the division bench of comprising Chief Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice VK Ahuja today. The court fixed January 5, 2010 as the next date of hearing, seeking reply from the state government.
Seeking scrapping of the deal, the writ petition was filed on Monday by Tikender Singh Panwar on behalf of Himachal Kisan Sabha, alleging that the government has disposed of Rs 28-crore AIPIL carton plant ignoring its merit by selling it at a very nominal price band of Rs 1.8 crore.
