Two suspected Hizbul militants held in Himachal

Dharamsala (Dec 15): Two suspected militants from Jammu & Kashmir were arrested on Wednesday in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, police said here. One is believed to be Doda district commander of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit.

“Two militants, believed to be associated with Hizbul Mujahideen outfit, were intercepted near Kotla town in Nurpur sub-division. They were believed to be staying in the area since November,” additional director general of police ID Bhandari said. He added the militants were identified as Jameed Ahmed and Gulam Nabi, both belonging to Doda.
“One Chinese pistol was also recovered from their possession. We are trying to verify the details. Searches are on to find out if there is any other militant hiding in the area,” he said.
