Icy winds shake life in Himachal

Shimla (Dec 13): Icy winds blowing amid misty condition and partly cloudy sky forced people to stay indoors in Himachal Pradesh as minimum temperature plummeted to up to five degrees below normal.

Keylong of Lahual Spiti district was coldest place in the state today where minimum was minus four degree Celsius followed by Kalpa in Kinnaur at minus 0.8 degrees. Minimum temperature of Solan was 1.2 degrees, Sundernagar in Mandi and Bhuntar in Kullu 2 degrees each, Shimla, Palampur and Dharamsala in Kangra, Una and Mandi were 4 degrees each and Nahan 5 degrees, respectively. The Met office forecast mainly dry weather in next 24 hours in the state.
