Property worth Rs2 Lakh is gutted in fire in Chamba

Chamba: A devastating fire broke out at at Kasakada Mohalla of this town and gutted property worth Rs2 lakh, belonging to belong to a Sanjay Kumar. A major fire accident was averted due to timely action by fire department, senior police officer said. Superindent of Chamba District Madhusudan Sharma told Himvani that fire broke out at 1040 hrs this morning, but was brought under control as fire brigade and local people succeeded to douse down the inferno. He said that property worth Rs10 lakh was saved by the timely action by the locals while fire engine pressed over the spot controlled the flames from spreading to nearby houses. Meanwhile, fire did not cause any loss of life.
