CPIM demands removal of cabinet Minister for manipulated felling of trees



Mandi: District Secretary of Communist Party (Marxist) Bhupender Singh today demanded an immediate removal of the cabinet minister for allegedly manipulated felling of hundreds of deodar trees in the dense forest of Jhungi Range of Karsog sub-division for the construction of a link road to his apple orchard. He also demanded stern action including dismissal from service against some officials of the forest department who were allegedly conniving with the minister in the illegal adventure. The party has also urged the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to intervene in the matter by directing the state government to take stern action against the erring persons.
