Shimla (Dec 9): Umang Foundation, a public welfare trust, is organizing a voluntary blood donation camp at the Ridge, Shimla on 10th December, 2010, in association with HDFC Bank, to mark World Human Rights Day.

Ajai Srivastava, chairman of the foundation, said today that the blood banks in Shimla are facing acute shortage of blood these days. Winters in Shimla are more painful for the patients who need blood as donors hesitate to donate blood in cold wave conditions.

He said, “The foundation has planned a series of blood donation camps to be organized to support the patients. After 10th December, two more camps will be there these months i.e. on 25th (Christmas) and 31st December (New Year Eve). To celebrate Makar Sankranti, the festival of donation, a blood donation camp will be organized on 14th January, 2010.”

  1. The All Kerala Blood Donors’ Society (KEBS), Thiruvananthapuram-12, congrats the organization Umang Foundation & HDFC Bank for organizing a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp. Motivate the participated donors to become Regular Repeated Voluntary Blood Donors explaining them the self-health-benefits to such a donor. This is the only source to get “SAFE BLOOD” and motivate the youngsters to donate “NEW BLOOD”.
