Shimla: In order to facilitate the passengers boarding for Paschim and Shatabadi Express trains at Kalka and Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation(HPTDC) has decided to start a new Volvo bus on Shimla-Chanidarh route. Managing Director of HPTDC Vineet Kumar said in a press released here today that new service has been started to cater Paschim Express’s passangers to carry them to station at Kalka(1010hrs) and Chandigarh(1110 hrs) from Shimla on daily basis. Besides, it would also facilitate passengers arriving in Shatabadi Express at Chandigarh(1050 hrs) and at Kalka(1150hrs)for this Capital town.
MD said that Volvo would depart from Shimla (Victory Tunnel) at 0700 hrs and would reach at Kalka at 0930 hrs and Chandigarh at 1050 hrs. It would touch Himachal Bhawan at Chandigarh, similarly it would start from Chandigarh railway station at 11:15 hrs and would take the passengers from Kalka at 1150 hrs. He said that operation of this service would be on trial basis for period of one month and apart from railway passengers, it would facilitate the routine passenger to these destinations. HPTDC has decided to charge flat fare of Rs 340 per seat from Shimla to Kalka or Shimla to Chandigarh.
