Dharamshala: Union Minister for Steel Virbhdra Singh today stressed on the state congress leadership to get united and work for strengthening the Congress party in the state to destabilize the BJP government. Former Chief Minister Virbhdra Singh stated this while addressing congress rally at Nagrota Bagwan. He gave a call to the state party leadership that efforts should be made to work with unity in the larger party interests so that BJP government could be uprooted from here. He was also very critical of the state government for planning to close down the schools in different parts of the state with student strength less than 25. AICC General Secretary Mohsina Kidwai on this occasion supported Virbhdra Singh and said that UPA government had given liberal grants to the state government for running the schools and ridiculed the closure of the schools by the state government. The rally was organized to show the united face of Congress party in the state but poor public response and the utterances of the leaders of both factions during their speeches diluted the purpose of the rally.
