BSNL strike enters in 2nd day

Shimla (Dec 2): On the call given by the joint action committee of BSNL employees’ union and associations, executive and non-executive staff of local division of BSNL today continue their three-day long strike in support of their demands.

Various services being rendered by state-owned BSNL remained paralysed for the 2nd day today as agitating staff all over the state did not return to their normal work. There are reports that protests were held outside respective BSNL offices in each district of the state beside the main protest organised outside the chief general manager’s office at Vikasnagar in Shimla.

The agitators are demanding refund of Rs 18,500 core to BSNL, which was paid to the Union government towards 3G and BWA spectrum charges and continuation of ADC and USO funds and to stop disinvestment in BSNL.
