Virbhadra graft case adjourned for November 30

Shimla: Union Steel Minister Virbhadra Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh would appear in a trial court here on November 30 after the hearing in a corruption case registered against them was adjourned, a public prosecutor appearing on behalf of the state, said here.

Special Public Prosecutor Jiwan Lal Sharma told Himvani that since the judge is attending a judicial workshop at Palampur on Nov 27 and 28, he has adjourned all the cases. Earlier, Virbhadra Singh’s corruption case was listed for Nov 27, which would now be heard Nov 30,2010.

Virbhadra Singh, who is five-time former chief minister is accused of misusing his official position when he was chief minister in 1989. The couple was booked on August 3, 2009 on the basis of an audio CD released by his political adversary Vijai Singh Mankotia in 2007.
