Shimla: With a view to provide helitaxi services to high end tourists in the state, an agreement had been reached between the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation and three heli taxi providers, Simm Samm, Airways Pvt. Ltd., Shiva Heli Services and Mesco Airlines Ltd. according to Director of Tourism and Civil Aviation Arun Sharma.
He said that Simm Samm Airways Pvt. Ltd. had proposed to operate between Kullu-Manali-Koksar, Manali-Sissu-Manali-Tandi(DIET), Tandi-Udaipur, Udaipur-Killar. Shiva Heli Services would operate between Manali-Bhuntar-Manali, Manali-Rohtang Pass-Manali, Manali Valley Ferry (Joyride) from SASE BASE. MESCO Airlines Ltd. had proposed to operate between Shimla (Annadale)-Chandigarh(Airport), Chd-Dharamsala, Dharamsala-Chd., Chd.-Shimla or Shimla-Kullu(Airport), Kullu-Tandi, Tandi-Udaipur, Udaipur-Killar, Killar-Udaipur, Udaipur-Tandi, Tandi-Kullu, Kullu-Shimla or Shimla-Tabo, Shimla-Kaza, Tabo-Kaza, Kaza-Tabo, Tabo-Shimla or Shimla-Reckong Peo or Reckong Peo-Shimla. He said that base of heli taxi operators would be at Annadale helipad Shimla and Manali simultaneously. He further added that ticketing would be done by the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) from their offices/hotels within and outside the State.
