Shimla: As many as four people were injured when a fire broke out in Middle Bazar, here, last night.

According to sources, fire broke out in one of the houses owned by the Kashmiri Khans  living in Middle Bazaar.

The reason for the fire break-out is being guessed as leakage of a gas-cylinder.

Seven fire tenders were pressed into the service and the fire was doused in an hour’s time.

Had it not been for the valiant effort by local businessman, Naresh Sood, the incident could have turned out to be more tragic.

Showing his heroic effort, Sood kicked out the burning cylinder from Khan’s house, and prevented further spread of fire into nearby houses.

“There were three other filled LPG cylinders in the apartment and had the burning cylinder blasted, it could had been a disaster,” said a relieved neighbours.

Sood, who deals in business of jewellery, expressing modesty, gave the credit for this heroic act to God.

The fire department sources, meanwhile, said that four persons were injured in the incident, who were rushed to IGMC for treatment and are said to be out of danger.

Police sources said that matter was under investigation and case under section 285 of Indian Penal Code has been registered.
