Another child falls prey to leopard



Shimla: Two years old child was suddenly taken away by a leopard last night at Gobalthi village under Rampur subdivision of this district. Victim’s half eaten body was recovered this morning and he has been identified as Vinay son of Gobind Singh. He was with his grandmother when a leopard snatched him from her hand. Family of the affected along with other villagers tried to find the child in every nook and corner of nearby forest, but they could not recover him until  dawn this morning. Wildlife range officer of Rampur B.L. Negi visited the affected family today and said that efforts are being made to capture the leopard soon. He also assured to provide relief to victim’s family as per the norms and ordered the official to registered case in this regard.

  1. most tragic. both, for the humans who’ve encroached on the wildlife’s natural habitats and for the wildlife, which, consequently will be hunted down. something needs to be done soon to prevent this kind of happenings in future.
