Shimla: Himachal Pradesh government has constituted state and district-level co- ordination and monitoring committees for ensuring effective implementation and co-ordination between different departments and agencies involved in the implementation of protection of women from Domestic Violence Act. Social Justice and Empowerment Minister would be the chairperson of state-level coordination and monitoring committee. Chairperson, State Women Commission, Chairperson, State Social Welfare Board, Additional Chief Secretary (SJ&E), Principal Secretary, Home, Principal Secretary, Law, Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Secretary, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Member Secretary, State Legal Services Authority, Director, Information and Public Relations, Managing Director, State Women Development Corporation and three NGOs to be nominated by the state government for a period of three years would be the members of the committee
Deputy Commissioner would be the chairperson of the district-level coordination & monitoring committee. Superintendent of Police, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Chairperson, Zila Parishad, District Welfare Officer, three representatives of NGOs to be nominated by Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Shelter Home, Mayor of Corporation/ President of M.C, women MLAs form the districts would be the member of the committee while District Programme Officer (ICDS) will be the member secretary. The state-level coordination and monitoring committee would meet once in six months whereas the district-level committee once in a quarter to review the implementation of the act.
