CM lays stone of state’s biggest marketing yard

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal on Monday laid the stone of state’s biggest marketing yard in upper Shimla to facilitate the fruit growers to market their produce speedily. It would be constructed at a cost of Rs.100 crore within three years at Parala in the heart of apple belt near Theog in Shimla district. Besides market terminals, the yard would have cold stores. A government spokesperson said, “ A highway connecting the proposed marketing yard with the neighbouring states would also be laid with an outlay of Rs.100 crore to ensure smooth transportation of produce. ”
