Himachal to have another ski valley in Chanshal

Shimla: The Chanshal Valley would be soon developed for skiing, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Virbhadra Singh said.

The CM said that Chanshal Valley would be connected with ropeways to promote winter sports and tourism activities in the Rohru and Dodra-Kawar region. The Kalgah Pattan area was also being explored from the tourism point of view, he informed.

Singh said that experts had confirmed that the Chanshal slopes were most suitable for ski runs that could help in boosting adventure sports linked with tourism promotion and explore more avenues of income generation to the people in the valley.

Singh was addressing a gathering at the prize distribution ceremony of the week long  Maharaja Padam Singh Cricket Tournament-2007, organised by Rohru Cricket Association at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Rohru.

The team representing LIC of India, Chandigarh took home the winning trophy and the cash prize of Rs 1 lakh by defeating KCA, Karnal, which was awarded a cash prize of Rs 50,000 for being the runners-up.

Earlier, the CM paid his obeisance at the Hatkoti shrine.

  1. Raja Sahib travels by air… Roads are nowhere in his dictionary. Raja Sahib must not be knowing how a NH, State Highway or a Village road looks like!!

    Maharajadhi Raaj… the elections are around the corner.. Please get out of your UDANKHATOLA and see how your praja is subjected to extreme torture on what your Sarkaar calls roads in the state.
