Una (Nov 13): Government-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is offering attractive packages to its rural clientage in Himachal as number of schemes have been launched by the telecom operator to link the remote and far-flung areas of the state with rural telephony.
This was disclosed by sub-divisional engineer (sale) of BSNL Una circle Dinesh Sharma while speaking at Bharat Nirman Jan Suchana Abhiyan programme being organized by Press Information Bureau, Shimla at Thanakalan area of Una district on Thursday. He said Una district telecommunication block has 28 telephone exchanges providing latest communication facilities in the rural areas beside 32 costumer care centre working in the district.
He disclosed that BSNL has 14 lakh subscribers in the state. He said that Bangana, Ladani, Thanakalan, Choki, Manyar, Tudi, Solah, Panjawar, Pairga, Dairababa Rudhanand, Nangana, Tahliwall, Dulahir, Pubawala, Santokhgarh, Mahitpur and Una telephone exchanges are offering high speed broadband internet facility in the district.
He said that BSNL also introduced ‘Ladli Jori’ scheme in order to promote landline services in which one SIM of Rs 31 validity of five months is being given to landline subscriber free of cost. He said that Rs 450 unlimited and Rs 99 broadband plan were available for rural client in the state, moreover broadband EVDO/NIC card facility is also available for those who has no landline facility in the district.
He said that rural subscribers could also avail the single installment Rs 662 annual rental telephone services in the state.
