Manali: The Himachal Pradesh government on Saturday issued a show-cause notice to the management of the 192 MW Allian Dhuhangan hydel project being constructed near Manali. The project had for long been raising controversies due to alleged violation of environment laws, and the government had constituted a committee in March to conduct an enquiry into the environmental damages caused by the company. The panel submitted its report on April 19 and its findings have highlighted that the company failed to comply with the directions given by the forests department and the state Pollution Control Board.
