Single-window clears eight industrial units worth Rs 462 cr

Shimla (Nov 2): The State Single Window Authority today approved eight new industrial projects for setting up in different parts of the state to attract investment of Rs 462.33 crore and generate employment to 1,784 persons.

Disclosing this, state industries department director Onkar Sharma said that Vardhman Group would set up one more spinning facility in Himachal Pradesh by next year. He said the company would invest Rs 207 crore in the unit that would be operational by November next year. The company is already operating its unit in Baddi.

Sharma said another knitwear company Ganga Knit Private Ltd. of Ludhiana has also got permission to set up its Rs 260-crore unit in Gagret in Una district. “Ranbaxy’s expansion proposal of Rs 60 crore at its existing facility in Paonta Sahib (in Sirmaur district) also got approval of the government,” he added. Himachal Pradesh has 38 industrial areas and 15 industrial estates.
