Shimla (Oct 28): Himachal Pradesh unit of Student Federation of India today held a state-wide protest against lukewarm response of state government to take strong action against those involved in the fake certificate scams unearthed in state school education board and Himachal Pradesh University.
The protest was held in HPU campus and colleges affiliated with it, seeking proper enquiry over the matter. About 150 activists gathered in the university campus and shouted slogans against the state and university authorities for shielding the culprits, alleging that enquiry into this scam is mere eyewash.
While addressing student, campus SCA president Khushi Ram alleged that BJP government was giving patronage to culprits and official who had been ruining education mafia in the state.
Similar protests were held in Model Government Colleges Sanjauli, Kotshaira, RKMV and colleges in other districts of the state. So far, about 238 fake certificates have been recovered by state education board, many of them obtained without appearing in any examination.
