Shimla (Oct 25): Despite clear weather, mercury further plunged in high reaches of Himachal Pradesh as Keylong in Lahaul Spiti recorded minus two degree Celsius today, the Met office said.
Snowbound areas of the state are still reeling under sub-zero conditions as mercury further dipped by five to six degrees below normal in some areas despite bright sunshine in the day. The Met office recorded sudden fall in night temperature. Sundernagar in Mandi was seven degree below normal at 8.1 degree Celsius, Kalpa in Kinnaur was six degrees below normal, recorded one degree Celsius, Nahan in Sirmaur five degree lower at 12.9 degrees, Palampur in Kangra at four degree below normal at 9.5 degrees.
Minimum of Shimla was nine degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu at 5.6 degrees, Dharamsala in Kangra 10.3 degrees, Una 11.2 degrees, Mandi 10.3 degrees and Solan 7.5 degrees, respectively. The weathermen forecast mainly dry weather in the next 24 hours in the state.
