HP enhances 'nazrana' to deities by 20%

Kullu (Oct 23): Himachal Pradesh government has decided to enhance the ‘Nazrana’ (presentation amount) to deities by 20% and also announced to provide travelling allowances.

While addressing a public gathering on the concluding day of the week-long International Kullu Dessehra Fair here today, state Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal accepted the demand from the ‘Kardar Sangh’ of deities. He said that the government would give Rs 1,000 as travelling allowances to each deity. The chief minister said that the state government would spend Rs 25 lakh on the gods and goddess in the state to meet their expenses. More than 220 deities participated in the week-long festival that concluded this evening at the Dholpur ground here today.
