Upper reaches of Himachal receive light snow



Shimla: Parts of Kinnuar and Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh witnessed light snowfall whereas the downstream areas were lashed with rain during last 24hrs.

Report received from Keylong of Lahaul Spiti and Recong-Peo of Kinnuar said that high reaches experienced light spell of snowfall overnight.

Amb in Una recorded 19mm of rain with Kalpa in Kinnuar receiving 4.3 mm, Udaipur in Lahaul Spiti 3 mm and Manali in Kullu 2.2 mm.

The minimum temperature of Shimla, Dharamshala and Bhuntar were 12 degree Celsius, Sundernagar 16 degrees, Kalpa 5.5 degrees, Una 17.6 degrees, Mandi 15.5 degrees, Nahan 16.7 degrees, Keylong 7.1 degrees, Palampur 14.5 degrees and Solan 11.5 degrees.

The met office has forecast rain or thundershower at few places in the lower hills and middle hills and rain or snow at many places in the upper parts of the state during the next 24 hrs.
