Shimla (Oct 12): Extending support to his counterpart in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today demanded recall of Karnataka Governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj. Replying to a query, Dhumal went on to say that the governor’s post should be abolished as “the constitutional post has became white elephant and victim of political interference”.

Addressing media persons, Dhumal called it an unprecedented move by Bhardwaj to destabilise an elected government by intervening in the matter of legislature. He commented that Bhardwaj had denigrated the dignity of Governor’s post by using it as a political tool by taking stand on one particular group, and therefore he should be recalled to maintain the undisputed privilege of the governor’s post.
