Vijay Kumar of HP claims three gold and one silver in CWG



Shimla (Oct 10): Subedar Vijay Kumar Sharma from Harsor village of Badsar tehsil in Hamirpur district has brought fame to the state by winning three gold Medals and one silver in the XIX Commonwealth Games being held in New Delhi in different shooting events.

Pistol ace Vijay Kumar on Friday said he was pleased to have won the second gold of the competition but added that he was thrilled with the scores he has been achieving. “I am pleased with my scoring. I did two points better than my scores in Melbourne Games, which is good for my confidence going into next month’s Asian Games (in Guangzhou),” he told media persons at CWG village in Delhi. “I have centre-fire pistol event from tomorrow and I hope to do well there too,” Vijay said, adding that he was looking forward to maintain the same level. “I have done a lot of work to be consistent with my scores and I will try and maintain them,” he said.
