Shimla: US-based multinational energy company Bergamo Acquisition Corp today announced its ambitious plans to set up a mega solar thermal power plant in Himachal Pradesh.
The announcement was made by Hillard Herzog, president and CEO of Bergamo Acquisition Corp, having its head office in Nevada. The company has set up a joint venture company Bergamo Harbinson Energy Limited, Gurgaon, with Esoft Informatics Private Limited, a software company based in India. The company has a comprehensive plan to set up solar thermal power plants in India up to a total capacity of 1000 MW. He told that the company has identified Himachal for the first phase under which it will set up a 100 MW solar thermal power plant with an investment of 400 million US dollars. The plant would be set up plant in Badd-Barotiwala area of Solan district, creating employment opportunities for around 10,000 people of the region.
