Shimla: Himachal Pradesh government today criticised the move of Delhi government to dilute the provisions of Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee Act 1999 terming it as anti-farmers step on part of Congress led NCR regime. Reacting over reports appeared in a section of media today, state Horticulture Minister, Narinder Bragta expressed the concern by saying that any move to dilute or repeal the aforesaid act would be anit-farmers and pre-judicious step of Delhi government, which should be condemned.
He said that state BJP government had launched the fight against charging of market fee in Azadapur fruit market Delhi as it took the matter in front of Delhi High Court, which had ordered to stop charging of market fee from the farmers. Delhi government did not show any respect to this order by not implementing in its true spirits, but is also bent upon diluting APMC Act against the interest of farmers. He said that such step on behalf of Congress leaders reflects their reluctance and callousness toward peasantry class. He said in order to build up pressure on Delhi government, state government also raised the matter with Union Commerce and Industry Minister, Anand Sharma and Minister of Steel, Virbhadra Singh, but none of them could conceded the adamant attitude of Delhi congress regime.
He said that charging of 8 percent commission on selling of produces of farmers is an abuse to the bylaw of APMC Act, which would be challenged by state government on appropriate form if Delhi government did not implement its provisions in favour of farmers. Slaming the action of diluting the provisions, Mr.Bragata challenged to intensify the battle being fought by the state BJP government to ensure justices to number of Farmers. While speaking to Himvani, he also appealed the northern state including Uttrakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Haryana to come forward with it to further built up the pressure on the Delhi government as the issue equally affects the interest of farmers of their states.
