Solan: Taking their fight against alcoholism literally to roads, about 100 strong-willed women on Wednesday blocked National Highway No.72 near Nahan to protest against opening of a liquor vend in their village.
In fact, women from Rukri village near Nahan had been protesting against the opening of the liquor shop for quite some time, but nobody paid heed to their pleas. The blockade continued for at least three hours and villagers relented only after assurence from Solan tehsildar.
