Manali: Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation’s tri-weekly Manali-Leh luxury bus service has been withdrawn from this route following official closing down of the road from the mid of this month.

According to the HPTDC spokesperson, the service was started on July 4 and has now been stopped as Rohtang pass and other high passes are already experiencing snowfall. However, many private buses and other vehicles are still using the highway.

The bus had been halting for the night at Keylong in between the tourist destinations of Manali and Leh. It is worthwhile to mention here that the route remains open for traffic only from June to October. The bus was plying on this route up and down tri-weekly, charging Rs 2,000 for the 475-km journey, including food, lodging and boarding at a hotel in Keylong.
