Palampur: Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) started a sniffer dogs training centre here. At present 50 dogs are deployed by SSB and about 150 more would be trained at this centre. Director-general of the force, Tilak Kak said that earlier their dogs were trained at Border Security Force (BSF) centres, but now the felt the need to have an exclusive dog training centre keeping in view the role they can play in patrolling the inhospitable Himalayan border.
