Shimla: A Class V student from Shimla has written a letter to the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court, requesting him to ensure a playground for children in the town. Taking note of 10-year-old Vipasha’s letter, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice Rajeev Sharma on Saturday asked the government to respond on the matter by October 28 when the matter would be heard again.

In her appeal, Vipasha has mentioned that in absence of parks and playgrounds, schoolchildren are forced to watch television. It may be mentioned that a Shimla-based youth organisation, YES, has already been carrying out a campaign to demand more parks in the town.
