Shimla: High reaches of Kinnaur district in Himachal Pradesh experienced overnight snowfall, enveloping most mountain ranges in a white sheet of snow. Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall also occurred at isolated places in the state during last 24 hours.
Reports arriving here from Kinnaur district said that Kinner-Kailesh ranges recorded about 15 cm of snow, while other mountain ranges also received substantial snowfall. Kalpa had 23 mm rain and Sangla 20 mm, respectively.
Poanta Sahib in Sirmaur district had 82 mm rain followed by Nahan 35 mm, Renuka 14 mm and Rajgarh 4 mm, Jubbal in Shimla 28 mm, Rohru 27 mm, Rampur 10 mm, Kumarsen 5 mm and Theog 4 mm each and Mandi 24.1 mm, respectively.
Minimum temperature fell down by one to two degree in tribal districts as Keylong was coldest with 7.7 degree Celsius and Kalpa was 8 degrees (one degree below normal), Shimla 13.9 degrees, Dharamsala 15.9 degrees, Bhuntar, Nahan, Palampur and Solan 17 degrees each, Sundernagar and Una 19.8 degrees each and Mandi 20.5 degrees respectively.
The met office said that rain or thundershowers are likely to occur in the state in the next 24 hours.
