Shimla: Indira Gandhi National Open University’s Shimla centre celebrated National Hindi Day at Udaan today, which was attended by students undergoing courses in disability management and also by teachers associated with Sarb Shiksha Abhiyaan. Speaking on the occasion, IGNOU director DB Negi said that is important that use of Hindi as a medium of imparting education be encouraged to take the literacy campaign forward.

He added that all coerces being run for the disabled by IGNOU are also being offered in Hindi, which would help enroll more people from the villages. Udaan school head Aarti Rana thanked the participants for making the event a success.
