Liquor consumption in office, five IPH officials suspended

Nahan: Superintending Engineer of IPH Circle Nahan, R.M. Mukul suspended five employees of IPH sub-division Sarahan of Sirmour District for consuming liquor in the office. These included three Junior Engineers, one surveyor and one class IV employee.

Mr. Nukul said that these employees were consuming liquor while sitting in the IPH office along with a contractor and this whole incident was recorded in a video camera by three other Junior Engineers.

He further added that the contractor who had provided all such facilities would also be taken to task and action would be taken against him, as per law.

  3.   Here the SE has taken action  because the pictures came in the media and he had no other option. Otherwise it is known to all that liquor is consumed in most of the offices.

    • I agree with the comments of Sh. Amar Singh. This practice is being under operation in almost all the offices, right from the H.P. Secretariat to all Autonomous H.P. Public Sector Undertakins, offices of the Education Department, D.Cs offices and other alied office in the Directorates but no effective checkings are done and the culprits are caught and action taken. Such persons should be prosecuted by lodging FIRs against them beside departmental actions. Sita Ram Dhiman, Sr. Bahujan Samaj Party Leader, Himachal Pradesh, Shimla.
